On the 1902 Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, there is a narrow, triangular plot south of Franklin and north of Prairie Street, on the bluff side of South Adams, which is developed with buildings with the addresses of 501-503-505-507-509, all connected and two floors, with 509 listed as a drug store. Across Prairie Street, the numbering continues, starting with 509 and 511 as one building, then 513 and 515 as a divided building to the south, both of two floors. The occupant of this second address of 509 is not given but the building has an exterior fire escape along it's north side, facing Prairie. It is unclear why 509 is listed for two different buildings on either side of Prairie and there is no 509 ½ on the map.

 

The entire 500 block of South Adams, bluff side, is now a parking lot.
